MOLELLA

It can be certainly said that Molella’s career started when he was 14 years old mixing tapes for friends. One year later he was at the microphone of a small local radio station. Many others followed, till in 1986 when he arrived at Radio Deejay where he debuted as sound engineer, while on the other side of the window there were Gerry Scotti and Amadeus at the mic, nowadays two of the most famous Italian TV anchormen. After about a month, his first Mega Mix arrived, transmitted on a Sunday afternoon from 1 to 5 pm. Another year later, Molly was always at the console of Radio Deejay, but on the mic there was Lorenzo Cherubini (aka Jovanotti, today one of the top Italian pop artist), and the show was the legendary 1-2-3 Casino. With Jovanotti a new collaboration began and this took him first on television, Saturday afternoons on Italia Uno for 1-2-3 Jovanotti, then on tour. The second show at Radio Deejay was the 'Deejay Time', then followed by “Molly4deejay”, Molly4/4”, till the most successful one called 'Do Re Mix', which also became the name of a musical software (Magix). In 1996 he released his first album 'Originale Musicale Radicale'. Today Molella has several records under his belt as a producer, amongst which Gala (4 millions of records sold) and the Outhere Brothers which took him on the popular TV stage of “Top Of The Pops'. Many are the prestigious remixes released for the most popular and famous artist in Italy and which left a sign in the “Italian dance music story”: 'Rewind' and 'Ti Prendo e Ti Porto Via” by Vasco Rossi; 'Ma Il Cielo E' Sempre Più Blu' by Rino Gaetano, 'Mary' by Gemelli Diversi, then for Boy George and Atb. In 2000 he released 'Genik' and 'Discotek People', included in the album 'Les Jeux Sont Faits' which was released in October 2001. The first single taken from the album 'Love Lasts Forever' was immediately a huge hit!!! In 2002 Molly produced 'T.V.A.B.', and in Autumn of the same year 'Magia', which contained the GALA's riff of 'Come Into My Life' (written by Molella too). 2003 started with the production of 'Baby!' with '60s sounds and continued with 'Desert Of Love' an epic record in the style of 'Originale Radicale Musicale', for which Molella won the 'Best Dance Producer' award in 2002 and 2003 at the 'Italian Music Awards'. In 2004 the collaboration with Gigi D'Agostino brought to life the project Gigi&Molly: the first single 'Con Il Nastro Rosa' was a real hit confirming the success of this duo. For the third time, Vasco Rossi commissioned him a new remix of one single of hims 'Buoni O Cattivi'. After 3 years from the release of 'Les Jeux Sont Faits', arrived 'Made in Italy', the new album, a work not just to be listened to but also to be read and discovered!!! In 2005 he released the 4th remix for Vasco Rossi 'Cosa vuoi da me' and a new version of 'If you wanna party' ft. The Outhere Brothers. In 2006 the big success of his 'Mush Up' section during Deejay Time radio show, became also a compilation, dedicated to the homonym music phenomenon of bootlegs which became a new trend. During the same year he released 'From space to my life' and the year after a new tune 'Love Resurrection'. In April 2007 he remixed the hit by Bob Sinclar 'Give a lil love' the new single of the french DJ. The 2008 started with the Vandalism remix of his “Scream in The Night” and the new single under the pseudonym MLA “Applaud and Laugh”.
